If you thought we were JUST for yoga, boy were you wrong! Atlanta Activewear athlete, Joseph Burke, represented us in fine fashion at the Summer XGames XVII July 29-31 in the Rally Car and Rally Cross division.

Joseph is a graduate of St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, where he captained the State Champion soccer team in 2009, and currently is a student at Auburn University studying Mechanical Engineering. He is a native of Atlanta and has been racing since he turned 17. Joseph became the youngest driver to win a rally at age 18 and in 2010, won Rookie of the Year, a title held by professional drivers Travis Pastrana and Ken Block.

I was lucky enough to be able to follow Joseph in Los Angeles during his Rookie XGames appearance and every time the car lined up, my heart was in my throat. Joseph is considered a privateer, running the races in a car less powerful than the factory cars sponsored by Ford, Subaru, Monster Energy and Red Bull, but he still managed to qualify 4th fastest during the Rally Car division on Saturday only .4 seconds behind the leader. Joseph pushed hard that day to finish 5th overall, being placed in his final race with Liam Doran, who would take the XGames Rally Car gold medal that day.

Sunday in the RallyCross division, Joseph would race like a true champion and give Travis Pastrana a run for his money jumping off the start line and into the lead, but mechanical issues allowed Travis to take the round. Joseph placed in the Top 10 during Sunday's race, another fine finish for the Atlanta Activewear athlete. He showed true heart, determination and love for his sport throughout the entire weekend and his fans worldwide showed support via Facebook and Twitter posts.
